Ubuntu: Install deb files - how it works
There are several ways to install deb files on Ubuntu. We show you how the installation of the Debian files works via the terminal.
Install deb files on Ubuntu
- Right-click on the desired deb file and select the "Properties".
- Copy the "Location" there and then open the terminal under Ubuntu. This can be done, for example, using the key combination [CTRL] + [ALT] + [T].
- Now change to the previously copied directory with the "cd" command. In our case the command is "cd / home / Tim / Downloads".
- You can now use the "ls" command to display the files in the folder again to find the correct file name.
- The command "sudo dpkg -i PaketName.deb" installs the desired deb file on Ubuntu.
