0x800704c7: Fix Windows Update error - how it works

Update error 0x800704c7: PC no longer starts properly
If your Windows computer no longer wants after an update, you should start it in safe mode. Only the most important components of the operating system are started. System services and other potentially faulty processes are not loaded, so you can repair your computer in peace and undo updates.
- To start Windows in Safe Mode, you must first turn off your computer. Then press the power button on your PC as normal.
- As soon as Windows starts, you have to press [Shift] and [F8] at the same time. In Windows 7, [F8] alone is sufficient. Press the buttons more often to make it easier for you to catch the right moment. Of course, you may need several attempts to do this.
- Now you can select how your computer should start in the advanced settings. Press "Safe Mode" here. Now your computer should start and you can undo the update with the troubleshooting. You can read more about this in the next paragraph.
Windows update error 0x800704c7 - you can do that
- If you are experiencing update error 0x800704c7, go to the troubleshooter first. To do this, click on the Windows icon and enter "Troubleshoot" here. Alternatively, you can open the settings, click on "Update and Security" and then click on "Troubleshoot".
- Now you have to choose which problem you want to fix. In this case, select "Windows Update" and then click on "Run troubleshooter".
- Now your computer checks whether everything is OK with the system and offers suggested solutions. Simply follow the instructions here and do whatever the troubleshooting suggests. The error should be corrected at the latest after a restart.
- If the troubleshooter did not improve, you should undo the update. Our instructions show the steps, again you have to start the computer in safe mode.
