1 & 1 - Which subsidiaries are included?
The internet and mobile operator 1 & 1 belongs to United Internet AG. In addition to web hosting and DSL products, it also offers mobile phone tariffs. Since 1 & 1 acts as the nucleus of United Internet AG, it is often not possible to directly see which company is running 1 & 1 and which is United Internet AG.
- 1 & 1 has been a subsidiary of Drillisch AG since 2017. This was in turn bought up by United Internet AG.
- Thanks to this merger, another large provider has emerged on the mobile communications market.
- Previously, 1 & 1 could only offer mobile phone tariffs via the Vodafone network. Drillisch AG offers your tariffs in the O2 network. Together they cover a larger market.
These are the subsidiaries of 1 & 1
1 & 1 is a so-called quadruple player (1. television or video-on-demand, 2. (IP) telephony, 3. internet and 4. mobile radio). This list should give you a rough overview. Only the board members Ralph Dommermuth (United Internet) and Eric Tholomé (1 & 1) know what the company structure actually looks like.
- 1 & 1 Telecommunication GmbH: All offers in the field of mobile radio run under this name. Since this division officially belongs to Drillisch AG, the following brands are on the same level in the hierarchy, but it is still interesting: maxxim, deutschlandsim, discoplus, discotel, etelon, hellomobil, McSIM, PHONEX, PremiumSIM, sim.de, simply, smartmobil, winSIM, yourfone, BigSIM
- MyWebsite: Since 2009 1 & 1 has been offering MyWebsite websites to build yourself. Previously, this was developed in cooperation with Jimdo under the title Do-It-Yourself-Homepage.
- 1 & 1 Mail & Media GmbH: This includes the mail providers from 1 & 1, web.de and GMX.
- InterNetX: 1 & 1 operates the international reselling business for domains, hosting and SSL certificates under this name.
