Develop 35mm film - how it works
Especially for the first try, you should use a cheap film that you can practice with. First you need the spool from the development tank and the film change bag to practice:
- Try winding the film on the spool in the film change bag.
- When you have successfully wound the spool on the spindle in the development tank, you need to prepare the chemicals.
- Pay attention to the specified mixing ratios on the developer. A ratio of 1: 2 is often used. So you need to mix twice as much water as liquid from the developer together. The information is on the film box.
- Then pour the mixture into the development tank for 30 seconds.
- Turn the tank upside down by turning it up and up again. Then stop another 10 seconds.
- Now pour the stop band into the tank for 30 seconds.
- Put the fixative in the tank. Apply it every 30 seconds and after five minutes the process is complete. Finally wash off the chemicals from the film.
