Create real 360-degree photos with the Google Street View app
You can easily create real 360-degree photos with the Google Street View app, which is available free of charge for Android and iPhone.
- After installing the app, click the orange camera icon in the lower right.
- Then you can choose whether you want to connect the app to a professional 360 degree camera, import a 360 degree photo or use the camera of your phone.
- To take the 360-degree photo, you have to turn several times around your own axis and hold your cell phone at different angles - just be careful not to get dizzy.
- As you take the 360-degree photo, the app shows orange dots where you have to align the camera.
- After taking the photo, it takes a moment for the app to calculate the image.
360-degree photo "Light": The camera app from Android and iOS
If you do not want to use the Google Street View app, you can also use the Android and iOS camera app already included. You cannot take a real 360-degree photo with it, because no images are taken in the area of the ground and the sky, but the result can still be seen:
- Open the camera app and select the panorama mode. Tip: For Samsung smartphones, the function is called "Surround Shot".
- After you start recording, a line appears along which you have to move the camera.
- Then slowly turn around your own axis to take the photo. If you are satisfied with the result, you can share the picture directly on Facebook or other social networks.
