In this guide, we show you how to activate 60 Hz mode on a 4K monitor.
4K: Activate 60 Hz mode on the monitor
Note: This practical tip was tested with an Asus PB287Q. With other monitors, the individual steps may differ slightly.
- To activate 60 Hz mode on your 4K monitor, you must first ensure that you have properly connected the monitor to your PC.
- For 60 Hz mode, you have to connect most monitors to your computer via DisplayPort 1.2. Many displays only manage a maximum of 30 Hz via HDMI.
- Then select the "DisplayPort" option under "Input selection" in the menu of your monitor. Under "System Settings" and "DisplayPort Stream", select "DP 1.2".
4K: Activate 60 Hz mode on the PC
- On most computers, the 60 Hz mode with 4K resolution must not only be set on the monitor, but also on the PC.
- In the graphics options on your computer, select 60 Hz as the refresh rate. At AMD you can find this setting in the Catalyst Control Center.
In the next practical tip, we will clarify the question of whether it is worth buying a 4K monitor.
