Cool off in the summer with a cold hot water bottle - an ingenious trick for hot days
As great as summer is, it is much easier to sleep for a little cooling, like with a cold hot water bottle. The hot water bottle in summer is not a completely new trick, but it is still awesome.
Hot water bottle in summer - so you cool down
At night, when the heat in the bedroom appears to be in the summer, any kind of cooling is more than welcome. The hot water bottle offers a really effective cooling - in summer, of course, as a cold bottle.
- The really great thing about the hot water bottle is that the cooling it offers is not just of a short-term nature. With the hot water bottle you have a comfortable bed cooler with you for a few hours.
- There are various ways to convert the hot water bottle into a cold bottle. One of them is to fill the hot water bottle with water and put it in the fridge a few hours before going to bed.
- Another option is to fill the hot water bottle with ice cubes. For this you use an ice cube mold, with which you can make relatively small ice cubes. In the case of the hot water bottle, you will use a model with the largest possible filling area. Make absolutely sure to leave space in the hot water bottle.
- Blue cooling compresses are an alternative to the hot water bottle. No matter which cooling option you ultimately choose, you should always put a towel or similar around the hot water bottle. In addition, you should avoid direct physical contact, otherwise you risk a cold burn. A good place for the chilled hot water bottle is, for example, the foot end of the bed.
- By the way: Cold showering has some advantages. To cool down before going to bed, however, this is not a good idea. You will achieve the opposite of what you originally intended. The body reacts to the extreme cold by trying to equalize the temperature as quickly as possible - that is, it produces additional heat. If you want to take a shower, a lukewarm shower is much more sensible.
