Acrobat could not connect to a DDE server - you can do that

1. Solution of the error "Acrobat could not connect to a DDE server
When it comes to PDFs, there is hardly any way around Adobe's Acrobat. The software offers many functions related to the platform-independent file format. For example, the merging of many files into a single PDF. And this is exactly where you can face this error. We offer you two different solutions to the problem.
- Open the registry editor. To do this, right-click on the Windows icon at the bottom left and select Run .
- Now enter regedit in the field and click OK . You may have to confirm opening the editor again.
- Now enter Computer \ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ acrobat \ shell \ open \ ddeexec \ application in the search bar at the top and confirm with [Enter].
- Tip: Make a backup of the application on the desktop. Right click on application and then select Expose .
- Ensure that you have selected application in the editor and right-click on Standard in the right field. Select change and change the value from: Acroview A 18 to Acroview R 18.
- Now close the editor and restart Acrobat. The problem should be solved. If not, go to the next solution.
- Tip: Adobe recommends that you back up the Windows registry beforehand.
2nd solution: It can also be due to the antivirus program
Determine whether you are using an antivirus program on your PC.
- If necessary, deactivate the program and check whether the error message still appears.
- If the error persists, make sure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed.
- To do this, open Acrobat and click on Help at the top of the bar. Select Check for updates here and follow the instructions if necessary.
