If you only receive an ACSM file when you buy an eBook, you can't do much with it. We'll tell you what an ACSM file is.

ACSM file - what is it used for?

• An ACSM file does not contain the eBook itself, but is only the key with which you will ultimately receive the eBook.
• The ACSM file is read and processed using the Adobe Digital Editions software. You will be recognized and registered as the owner of the eBook. The download then starts automatically.
• This effort is done to protect the copyrights of the authors. This prevents the illegal distribution of the eBook.
