Remove Ad.doubleclick.net - Here's how it works

Step 1: Uninstall Ad.doubleclick.net
This is relatively harmless adware, which usually gets to your computer via free software. Among other things, advertising advertisements are presented to you in the browser.
- Open the Control Panel and under "Programs" click "Uninstall a program".
- Sort the list of installed programs by the date of installation above.
- Look for installations from the last few days that you do not know and remove them using the "Uninstall" button.
- Tip: If you are not familiar with the installed programs, google suspicious names before removing them.
Step 2: Remove Ad.doubleclick.net from Windows
- AdwCleaner: In many cases the free AdwCleaner does the rest. Run a scan and remove any finds.
- Clean up browser shortcuts: The browser shortcuts often hide additional code for changing the start page. Follow the linked instructions if they are not the same as before.
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: If you want to be on the safe side, you can run a virus scan. Since the software already installed did not seem to work, you should use a tool that has not yet been installed, such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
