ADAC Maps: plan routes in advance
- You can find ADAC Maps both online as a website and on the phone as an app for iOS and Android. The app is only intended for members of the ADAC, but you can also use many functions without a login.
- ADAC Maps is a classic route planner with many useful functions. Unlike Google Maps or navigation apps, you cannot start live navigation. A classic text navigation with detailed directions is included.
Start navigation with ADAC Maps
Note: We will explain the service to you using the smartphone app, as this is not entirely self-explanatory. Some functions are arranged somewhat differently on the computer.
- First, enter the desired destination address above or simply any city. You can then calculate the route.
- Tap on the selected address and then on the route symbol at the top right. You can now insert further intermediate stations here.
- Via the "route options" you can adapt your means of transport, select a desired departure time and make further adjustments.
- Using the "Calculate" button, ADAC Maps searches for the best route. For more information, tap "Details" above.
- Here you can see the complete route description and any information about traffic jams and closures. The toll is also calculated.
- Alternatively, you can also choose connections for bus, train, long-distance bus or the ADAC carpool.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to call up ADAC traffic jam reports on your mobile phone.
