ADAC traffic jam reports on mobile phones - how it works
You can not only receive traffic reports from the ADAC via car radio, but also simply on your mobile phone. There are two ways to do this.
1. ADAC congestion information via hotline
The ADAC offers a current traffic jam announcement via mobile phone within Germany at this number: 22 4 99 (without area code). If you want the latest traffic jam information from abroad, you must dial the number that matches your provider:
- T-Mobile: +49 171 25 - 22 4 99
- Vodafone: +49 172 12 - 22 4 99
- E-Plus: +49 177 - 22 4 99
- O2: +49 179 - 22 4 99
- The usual costs for a domestic call or an international call are incurred.
2. ADAC traffic jam reports via app
- Of course, the ADAC also offers an app to bring the latest traffic jams to your smartphone. This service is integrated in the "ADAC Maps" app (ADAC Maps for iOS / ADAC Maps for Android), which offers not only a traffic jam service but also current maps.
- As a traffic jam scanner, the app anonymously transmits your current GPS position and speed. This data is used to make the traffic jam service even more accurate and to warn other app users, for example, of traffic jams.
- Caution! This app requires a permanent internet connection and a constant GPS signal, which means that the battery consumption of your smartphone increases rapidly - the best thing to do is to operate it in the car when it is connected to a power source.
