With the right effects, the sound of a voice can be significantly improved in Adobe Audition. We'll show you how to improve voice recordings in Adobe Audition.
Improve voice in Adobe Audition: remove noise
In the first step we show you how to minimize noise and hiss in a voice recording:
- Open your voice recording with Adobe Audition.
- Click Effects> Noise Reduction> Adaptive Noise Reduction.
- Select "Slight Noise Reduction" or "Heavy Noise Reduction" depending on the amount of noise. Note: The more noise you remove, the more you distort the original recording. If you are not sure, first choose "Light Noise Reduction".
- Keep the preset parameters and check "High quality (slower)".
- Finally click on "Apply".
Reduce hissing and clicking noises of a voice recording
In the second step, reduce the hissing and clicking in a voice recording with the following tips:
- Select "Effects"> "Diagnostics"> "DeClicker (process)".
- Depending on the strength of the click noises, set "Slight reduction" or "Medium reduction" under "Specifications".
- Click "Browse" and then "Repair All".
- To remove additional hissing noises, open "Effects"> "Noise Reduction"> "Hiss Reduction (Process)".
- Depending on the strength of the hiss, choose between "Light" or "High". If the hiss affects high tones, you can slightly raise the line on the right. If the tone is low, raise the line on the left.
- Finally click on "Apply".
Improve voice with audition: normalize volume
If the volume of your recording fluctuates, you can normalize the volume. This allows you to adjust the volume over the entire duration.
- Choose Effects> Amplitude And Compression> Normalize.
- Select your desired output volume and click "Apply". If you don't know which value to choose, a value between -3 dB and -0.1 dB is recommended.
