If you see only the trial version after installing apps in Adobe CC, you may have an obstructive entry in your hosts file. We'll show you how to successfully activate Adobe CC.
Adobe CC: Activate trial versions of the apps
Before you go to your hosts file, you can try these steps:
- Check whether you are connected to the Internet. Test the Adobe website to test whether the Adobe servers can be reached at the same time.
- If activation still doesn't work, restart the Creative Cloud.
- If you still see the "Test" button, your hosts file is probably blocking access. In the next paragraph, we'll help you fix this.
Adobe CC: Allow access in the hosts file
If you already had Adobe products installed on your computer, incorrect or disruptive entries in the hosts file may remain. Start the command prompt by searching your PC for "cmd" and clicking on the result "cmd.exe".
- Enter the path "C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc" here.
- Here, look for a file called "hosts".
- Right click on this file and select "Open With". Now click on "Editor", "Notepad" or another text editor that is on your computer.
- To be on the safe side, first save the file as "Hosts.backup" on your desktop.
- Now open the original hosts file again and look for entries in which you can find the name "Adobe". Delete all entries from Adobe and save the file.
- If you do not have access rights, we will show you in another practical tip how you can still edit the hosts file.
- If you have successfully edited the hosts file, you must log out of Adobe CC and log in again.
Adobe CC: Sign out and sign in for product activation
In the Adobe CC interface, click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select "Preferences". Log out of Adobe CC in the "General" tab. You can then log in again and you should now be able to use all of your apps in the licensed full version.
