Adobe Flash security patch - here is the update
In February 2014, Adobe patched a critical vulnerability in the Flash player with a security patch. This practical tip will tell you whether you are affected by the problem and how to solve it.
Is my Flash version affected?
The vulnerability affects only certain versions of Adobe Flash Player. You should therefore first check your version.
- All versions up to and including Flash version 12.0.0.43 are affected. This applies to both Apple and Windows systems.
- To find out the version of your Flash player, visit this page as a Windows user and as a Mac user.
Install security update
Usually the flash player automatically installs updates or asks if an update should be installed. If you still have an affected version, you should first uninstall and then reinstall the flash player.
- Download the uninstall program for your Windows system here. You can find the uninstaller for your Mac on this page or download it here.
- If your flash player is removed from your computer, download the new version 12.0.0.44. Here you can find the download for Windows and here for your Mac.
