In this article, we'll show you how to insert an image into a shape using Adobe Illustrator.
Insert image in shape - how it works with Adobe Illustrator
Create any shape and then place an image over that shape. Make sure that the picture completely covers the shape.
- Now select the picture and arrange it in the background. To do this, right-click on the image, select "Arrange" and press "in the background".
- Now select both objects - both image and shape - and right-click on one of the two objects. Select the "Create clipping mask" option in the context menu.
- Your picture now lies exactly in the form, whereby the contour of the form disappears. If you want the shape to be surrounded by a contour, you have to set the width of the contour again.
