Adobe Illustrator: Draw a picture - how it works
Adobe Illustrator is a vector-based graphics program with which you can also trace images. A pixel graphic can be converted into a vector graphic in no time at all. We show how this works in Illustrator.
Trace images with Adobe Illustrator
- First open Illustrator and load the relevant pixel graphic.
- Then show the complete tool for tracing via "Window"> "Tracer".
- If you have not already done so, you must now mark your graphic in order to edit it. To do this, go to the "Selection Tool" in the left toolbar and click once on the graphic.
- You can now make the exact settings for tracing in the small window of the tracer tool. First select one of the defaults, such as "16-color", "grayscale" or "sketch graphic".
- Depending on the result you want to achieve, other settings are useful here. If you have found a suitable specification, you can make further settings with the controllers below.
- Tip: By clicking on "Advanced" you can show additional settings. With these you can, for example, determine the level of detail of the tracing or specify that white areas are completely ignored.
