To crop an image in Adobe Illustrator, only a few simple steps are necessary. We show you here how to get your graphics to the right size with Adobe Illustrator.
Crop graphics in Adobe Illustrator - this is how the image is cut
Follow these steps to crop your image using Adobe Illustrator.
- Select the Artboard tool from the menu on the left. Alternatively, you can also use the key combination [CTRL] + [O].
- Press and drag the artboard around the area you want to cut out.
- To change the size afterwards, you can enlarge or reduce the area at the corners.
- When you are finished and the area is correctly selected, confirm this with [Enter].
- Now you have to save the area. To do this, go to "Export" or "Save for Web" under "File" and make sure that the "Use Artboard" check box is set.
- Note that the original image is not saved. You may have to save this separately.
