Adobe Illustrator: Draw round corners - how it works
Adobe Illustrator is an extensive program that allows you to design vector graphics. Rounded corners are also possible here without any problems. In our practical tip, we show you exactly how to do this.
Create rounded corners in Adobe Illustrator
Using the example of a simple rectangle, you can see how you can round off the corners of geometric objects in Adobe Illustrator:
- Open Adobe Illustrator and draw a shape - like an ordinary square with the Rectangle tool.
- Then switch in the toolbar to the direct selection tool with the light gray mouse arrow.
- Now click the inside of the square you created. Further selection points appear - slightly indented - at all corner points.
- Click on one of these points and drag it inside the rectangle. In this way, all corners are rounded.
- If you only want to draw one of the corners round, click on the corresponding selection point to mark it. Then click it again and drag it inside to deform the corner.
- Tip: The "Corners" item is displayed in the top option bar. Click on it to activate other functions such as inverted rounding.
These instructions refer to Adobe Illustrator CC (2015). In the next practical tip, we'll show you how to convert a Photoshop document into a vector graphic.
