Adobe Illustrator: Change language - how it works

With Adobe Illustrator, you can only change the language by reinstalling it. However, this is relatively straightforward. We show you how to do it.

How to change the language in Adobe Illustrator

In our example, we use Adobe Illustrator CC under Mac OS X. However, the basic procedure is the same for Windows.

• Click the Creative Cloud icon in the menu bar. In Windows, this is shown in the task bar at the bottom right.
• In the window that opens, go to the gray gear icon and select "Preferences".
• Here you switch to the "Creative Cloud" tab and set the desired language under "App Language".
• If you have already installed Adobe Illustrator, you must now uninstall the program (instructions for Windows & Mac) and then reload it. This also works as usual via the Creative Cloud menu window.
• Illustrator is then started in the selected language.
