Adobe InDesign: Do a spell check - Here's how
InDesign's spell checker settings can be customized to your needs. Here we tell you which options you have so that the tool can make your work easier.
InDesign spell checker - how it works
Before using InDesign Spell Checker for the first time, you should set it up accordingly.
- To define the settings for the spell checker, first click on "Edit" in the menu bar of InDesign.
- Then select the "Preferences" and then "Spelling".
- Set up InDesign's spell checker to meet your needs by looking at the options available and choosing the settings you want.
- If you then want to have a document checked for spelling errors, click on "Edit" and then under "Spell Check" select the "Spell Check".
- Alternatively, let the spell check be carried out selectively, for example with "Text section" for the text, in the active frame.
- If you want to check all open documents for incorrect spelling, select the "All documents" option.
If you want to change the page format of InDesign, this can also be done quite easily. We have the instructions for this in the next post.
