Adobe Lightroom: Straighten images
Adobe Lightroom is a good tool for straightening images. This can be of great importance, especially for landscape or architecture shots, and significantly improve the image effect.
Straighten photos with a spirit level in Adobe Lightroom
- Find the image in your Lightroom library that you want to straighten and switch to "Develop" mode.
- In the right menu bar under the histogram, go to the left symbol "Exemption overlay". Alternatively, you can press the [R] key on your keyboard.
- At the "Angle" point, the straightening tool is now hidden. You now have several options for aligning your image:
- If you have a horizon or other straight lines in the picture that can serve as a reference, you should use the spirit level. To do this, click on the yellow water truck symbol. Then, keeping the mouse button pressed, draw a line along the horizon in the photo. Lightroom now rotates the image so that your previously drawn line is exactly horizontal.
- For fine tuning or for images without reference lines, you can now move the mouse pointer to the gray area next to your image so that the pointer changes into a curved arrow symbol. By pressing and moving the mouse you can now freely rotate the image until you are satisfied with the result.
- Then click "Done". You can undo or further adjust the changes in Lightroom at any time.
- In 3.5 hours you will learn, among other things, how to correct image errors, work effectively with batch processing and combine impressive HDR series with Lightroom.
