Rename catalog in Adobe Lightroom - it's that easy
To be able to rename a catalog in Lightroom, you first have to find the location.
- To do this, start the program and navigate to "Catalog Settings" in the menu via "Lightroom".
- Here you will see both the location and the name of the catalog. If you click "Show" in the window, you will be taken directly to the location in Explorer.
- Now close Lightroom to be able to rename the catalog.
- Now give the two files with the extensions "Previews.lrdata" and "lrcat" the new catalog name by renaming the files.
- Make sure to keep the addition "Previews" before the point of "lrdata". Here are the thumbnails.
- If a "Smart Previews" file is also displayed, rename it accordingly.
- If you click on the renamed catalog file, Lightroom starts with this catalog.
