Use Adobe Lightroom without a subscription - is that possible?
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is an extensive program for editing RAW images. This practical tip will tell you whether you can purchase and use Lightroom without a subscription.
Subscription system also for Adobe Lightroom?
Adobe has completely switched the classic Creative Suite to a cloud offering at a monthly rental price. Now many users are wondering whether Lightroom can only be used as a subscription.
- The answer here is very clear: no. You can also purchase the latest version of Adobe Lightroom as a DVD version.
- The license is unlimited. You pay a one-time fixed price and no monthly rent, such as for Photoshop CC.
- You can purchase the current version Lightroom 6, for example, on Amazon as a box version or as a software download. The price is currently around 120 euros.
- Nevertheless, you have the option to purchase Lightroom via the monthly subscription model. In the "Adobe Creative Cloud Photography" package you get the combination of the current Lightroom version and the powerful photo editor Photoshop CC.
- The price for a one-year license is around 150 euros. Of course, this only makes sense if you want to use the otherwise very expensive Photoshop in addition to Lightroom.
- Note: In the cloud version, Lightroom has the abbreviation "CC", in the box version the version number "6". It is still the same program.
