Reduce noise in photos with Adobe Lightroom
With Adobe Lightroom you can reduce the noise in the image caused by high ISO values. Newer cameras already have good noise reduction built in, with Lightroom's options you can remove even more.
- Open Lightroom, select the image you want to edit and switch to the "Develop" overview.
- Scroll down the list to the "Detail" settings. Under the item "Noise Reduction" you can now adjust some controls to remove noise in the image. You will see the changes in the preview picture with a short delay.
- First, you should move the "Color" slider. The higher the number, the greater the repair of the program. Usually you should choose a value between 20 and 30.
- In the next step you can change the "Details" under "Color". By adjusting the color in the previous step, noise and detail have been lost. With the "Details" value you can now bring back details. If the value is too high, however, you will notice new noise again. The default value of 50 can often be kept.
- Finally, you should use the "luminance" to smooth out your picture. After making this adjustment, you will notice the greatest effect on the original image. The value depends on the values that you have previously changed. Here too, too high a value can lead to even more noise.
