Remove Ads by Positive Finds - Here's how it works
Ads by Positive Finds is an adware that displays advertising banners, pop-up windows and hyperlinks in your browser. It is not a virus, but the tool is similarly persistent. It was probably installed together with another program that you downloaded from the Internet. We'll show you how to get rid of annoying ads.
Remove Ads by Positive Finds from PC
- Uninstall Positive Finds: Open the Control Panel and sort the list of installed programs by the installation date. Remove the entry "Positive Finds" here. You can find detailed instructions in the practical tip "Uninstalling Windows programs".
- AdwCleaner: Even if you have removed the program in Control Panel, it will remain in the shortcuts. Start the program, run the short scan and then remove all finds.
- Junkware Removal Tool: If AdwCleaner does not lead to the hoped-for success, use the Junkware Remvoal Tool.
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: This software is not necessary to remove Positive Finds, but this extremely reliable virus scanner looks for other threats on your system.
Remove Positive Finds from the browser: Internet Explorer
Next you need to remove Positive Finds from browsers:
- Start Internet Explorer and select "Manage add-ons" in the menu (using the setting wheel at the top right).
- Select "Toolbars and Extensions" from the list on the left.
- Look for "Positive Finds" or similar entries, right-click on them and choose "Disable" or "Remove" (depending on the version of your browser). Restart the browser.
- If Ads by Postive Finds has changed settings such as the start page or the search function of your browser, reset Internet Explorer.

Remove Positive Finds from the browser: Mozilla Firefox
- Start Firefox and open "Add-ons" in the menu at the top right (see picture).
- Select "Extensions" and look for entries like "Ads by Positive Finds".
- Click "Remove" and restart your browser.
- If the adware has changed the Firefox settings, reset the browser.
- Make sure to also check your links with the browser (see video).
Remove Positive Finds from the browser: Google Chrome
- Start Chrome and click on "Settings" or "Settings" in the top right menu.
- Now select "Extensions" or "Extensions" on the left side.
- Now delete all entries that have "Positive Finds" in their names. To do this, click on the small trash can.
- If the adware changed the Chrome settings, reset the browser.
