Airbnb: All fees and costs at a glance
Airbnb retains certain fees from both hosts and guests when booking. The amount of the costs differs between the type of booking and whether you are a guest or host. You can find an overview of all the information here.
Accommodation fees on Airbnb
Airbnb is financed through various service fees.
- A minimum fee of three percent applies to hosts. Depending on the type of cancellation policy chosen by the host, fees of up to five percent may apply.
- The fee will be deducted directly upon payment. Taxes are already included.
- As a guest, you pay a service fee of 5 to 15 percent. The company calculates the individual amount. B. from the length of stay, the characteristics of the accommodation and the booking amount.
- If there is still a sales tax, Airbnb will withhold this directly. The tax is combined with the service fee.
Discovery costs on Airbnb
Since mid-2017, hosts have also been able to offer discoveries, and as a guest, you can book these experiences.
- The host will be charged a 20 percent fee for discoveries.
- Again, the amount is deducted directly from the payout.
- For guests, however, there are no fees when booking.
