Airplay on multiple devices - is that possible?
This practical tip shows you how you can control multiple devices with Airplay.
Airplay: control several devices
- You can control several devices at the same time via Airplay: You need the free Apple app Remote for this. All receiving devices must be in the same network.
- Note that Remote is a remote control for iTunes. The program has to run in parallel on your Mac to control several Airplay receivers. Multiple devices can only be selected when outputting music. The video transmission only works for one receiver.
- To control several speakers directly from your iPhone or iPad, you need the "App Multiroom Music / Radio Player". The application is available for download from iTunes for EUR 4.49.
- By default, the app is able to send the signal to up to two Airplay speakers. You can unlock support for up to six speakers with an in-app purchase.
