Use Airplay with Kodi - Here's how
If you want to send music, videos and photos to your PC and TV using AirPlay on your iOS device, you can do so via Kodi. We'll show you exactly how it works and what the limits are.
Kodi and AirPlay: A complicated friendship
- Unfortunately, Apple has always marketed its in-house AirPlay as a fairly exclusive feature. If you are still using an iPhone, iPad or an iPod Touch with iOS 8 or a lower iOS version, you can transfer audio, video and images via Kodi.
- Since iOS 9, Kodi unfortunately only supports the transmission of audio signals via AirPlay. You don't need to install an extension to use AirPlay with Kodi. AirPlay is already integrated and only needs to be activated.
Instructions: Use AirPlay with Kodi
- Start Kodi and select "Settings" in the top left.
- Under "Services" you will find the category "AirPlay".
- Activate the option "Activate AirPlay support".
- If you receive an error message, activate the "Report available services from other systems" option under "General".
- The service "Bonjour" on your PC is required to use AirPlay. You will receive this automatically when you install iTunes.
