Connect AirPods to iPhone and iPad - how it works
The AirPods can be connected to any iPhone, iPad or iPod with iOS 10 or newer. Alternatively, you can also connect it to your Apple Watch (watchOS 3 or newer), Apple TV (tvOS 11 or newer) or your Mac with at least macOS Sierra. We'll show you how to connect on iPhone and iPad.
- First, switch to the home screen. Also make sure the AirPods and case are already charged.
- If not already done, switch on Bluetooth. Then open the case and hold it next to your device.
- A setup animation should now appear on the screen. Tap on "Connect" and then on "Done". The AirPods are now connected and can be used.
Listen to music on the AirPods
If you have both AirPods in your ears, your music will be played automatically. When you take an AirPod out of your ear, playback pauses. If you remove both AirPods, playback will stop.
- If you want to switch the audio output to another device, first open the control center.
- Then press firmly on the audio card in the top right corner, tap the triangle with the outgoing waves and select your audio device.
