If your AirPods are not connecting to your mobile device, there can be several reasons. We have solutions for you here.
AirPods don't connect - for various reasons
Make sure that Bluetooth is activated on your iPhone or iPad. Otherwise the AirPods cannot connect.
- Make sure you have the latest software version installed on your iPhone or iPad. If you are using the second generation AirPods, iOS 12.2 or newer must be installed. To use the first generation headphones, you need at least iOS 10.
- Check that both headphones are charged.
- Select the AirPods as an audio device on your iPhone or iPad.
- If you now close the lid of the case, a white LED should flash after about 15 seconds. This symbolizes that the AirPods are ready for a Bluetooth connection.
- If a connection still cannot be established, press and hold the headset setup button. The status LED first flashes white and then yellow. If it flashes continuously in white, you can release the setup button.
- Open the AirPods charging case and place it next to your device. Now select the AirPods on your mobile device and follow the instructions on the display.
- If none of these steps did anything, reset your AirPods completely.
