Windows Phone battery - the best energy saving tips
With the right settings, you can save the battery on your Windows Phone. You can read the secret energy saving tips here.
NFC approval: The absolute battery killer - so you turn off the function
Most Windows Phone 8 smartphones have integrated "Near Field Communication" - or NFC for short. This point is activated by default. But that robs your battery of energy. If you do not need the connection, you should deactivate it.
- To do this, call up the setting and select "Tap & send". In Windows Phone 8.1, the item is called "NFC".
- Turn off NFC sharing.
Increase battery life with the integrated power saving mode
Windows Phone has an intelligent power saving mode on board. As soon as your battery has only 20 percent power, for example, the power saving mode switches on. You will then no longer receive push notifications for emails, WhatsApp or Facebook and can therefore extend the battery life by a few hours.
- Call up the "Settings".
- Scroll through the list until you see "Power Save".
- Turn on the mode. Under "Advanced" you can specify whether the energy saving mode should be activated when the battery is low, until the next charge or always. With Windows Phone 8.1, "Advanced" is omitted because the options are immediately visible.
Determine app updates and save battery
Many apps would like to load new information regularly. Of course, this is at the expense of the battery. However, you can determine which apps are actually allowed to download constant updates and which are not.
- Go to the settings.
- Make a swipe gesture to the left so that you read "Applications" at the top.
- Select the "Background Tasks".
- You will now see a list of the apps that perform updates in the background. Here you can set whether you want to allow this or block it.
- In Windows Phone 8.1, open the settings and then "Energy saving mode" or open the app of the same name. Swiping to the right will show your apps and list which apps are allowed to update or not.
