Extend battery time on Nexus devices - the best tips
To extend the battery life of your Nexus devices, we have summarized some tips and tricks for you.
Google Nexus - display timeout and brightness
One of the biggest power guzzlers is a brightly lit display. You can do this to save the battery:
- Drag the status bar down and select "Brightness".
- Activate the auto mode with one tap. If that is still bright enough, you can save even more battery by turning the brightness down to a minimum.
- Also set the screen timeout as short as possible. You can reach this under Settings> Display> Hibernation. You can choose between 15 seconds and 30 minutes.
Nexus devices - mobile data, WiFi and GPS
Battery eaters are also activated WLAN and GPS functions, as well as the mobile data network. If you do not need the services, it is worth deactivating them. The "Power Toggles" app is recommended for faster access.
- You can access all options via the status bar. With the help of the reception icon, you can access data consumption and switch off mobile data and WLAN there. The GPS location can also be switched off under "Location" with a finger. It is also recommended to select this under Location mode> Energy saving mode.
- Under WLAN> Advanced you will also find further settings that you can configure to optimize battery consumption. For example, check the box "Avoid bad internet connection" and "WLAN optimization" in the checkbox.
Android phone - shorten synchronization times
If you don't have to be up to date, you can change the synchronization settings of some apps.
- Under Settings> Accounts, select the apps that often sync background data through a linked account.
- Remove accounts you don't need.
- In most apps, you can reduce the synchronization intervals in the settings.
It also makes sense to deactivate Bluetooth when it is not needed. At night, you save some battery percentages by putting your smartphone in airplane mode. For iPhone users, we have summarized tips and tricks for saving battery in another practical tip.
