Alexa: change WiFi - how it works
You can change the WiFi connection of your Amazon Echo at any time via the Alexa app. In this article we show how this works in detail and what you have to watch out for when making the change.
Amazon Echo: Change Alexa WiFi connection
So far, you cannot change Alexa’s WiFi connection using a voice command. Instead, you always have to use the free Alexa app, which you also need to set up the Amazon Echo.
- Start the app on your smartphone and make sure that your Amazon Echo is connected to the mains.
- At the bottom right, tap the gear icon and then select your Amazon Echo from the list.
- Then tap the "Change" button next to the "WLAN" entry and select the "Connect to WLAN" entry. Your Amazon Echo starts to glow orange. If this is not the case, press and hold the action button with the dot on the echo for five seconds.
- Now you can select a new WiFi network via the Alexa app and enter the password.
- As soon as you confirm your entries, Alexa connects to the new WLAN and should work as usual again. If you have any problems with the WLAN, we will help you on the next page.
