Alfred Powerpack - what is it?
For the MacOS spotlight alternative "Alfred" there is a free power pack in addition to the many free functions. We will show you the advantages of the Powerpack.
The Alfred Powerpack
Many MacOs users use the spotlight alternative Alfred. The Free version already has many functions that extend the standard Spotlight search. With the Powerpack, however, you can expand Alfred with additional practical functions.
- For example, the Alfred Powerpack extends the search application with the workflow function. As with the MacOS Automator app, you can use this to link various work steps and call them up with a specific shortcut. For example, you can use the "de apple" command to translate the word "Apple" into German. You can also import workflows from the Alfred forum.
- The Alfred Powerpack also includes an iTunes mini player: You can operate it completely with keyboard shortcuts and thus comfortably control your music in the background.
- A manager for the clipboard is also included in the Alfred Powerpack: So you can quickly and easily access the last 10 entries on the clipboard and paste them in another window. Once you get used to the manager, it makes your work on the PC extremely easier and can significantly improve the workflow.
- In addition, the Alfred Powerpack offers even smaller functions such as quick access to contacts, 1Password or the terminal. However, the Powerpack is not exactly cheap: the single license costs £ 17 (converted around € 21).
