Show all hidden drives in Windows 7
Sometimes when you connect a drive in Windows 7, it does not appear. We'll show you how to uncover all hidden drives.
Show hidden drives in Windows 7
The function for hiding empty drives is activated by default. This behavior is intended by Windows and is intended to provide a better overview. For example, empty, newly created partitions or data carriers created with "Subst" also disappear. If you prefer to always see all existing drives, you better deactivate this function.
- To do this, open the "Organize" command (top left)> "Folder and search options" in Windows Explorer and switch to the "View" tab.
- In the "Advanced Settings" area, look for the option "Hide empty drives in the folder" Computer "" (see picture). Then deactivate it and confirm the setting one after the other with "Apply" and "OK". The change takes effect immediately.
