Allnet Flats - you have to pay attention to that
Allnet flats are a great thing. Call as much and as long as you want. But before you conclude a contract or buy a prepaid card, you should ask yourself these questions: Are you a frequent or little caller? Do you use mobile Internet frequently or rarely and how fast does it have to be? Do you often write SMS? Because, not everything that says "flat rate" also includes unlimited calls and surfing. You can find a detailed tariff comparison in our article "Mobile phone flat rate: The best tariffs for your network".
Before signing the contract: Check flat rate conditions
When you conclude a contract, the first thing to check is how long you will be bound to your preferred provider. As a rule, you get a contract that binds you to the provider for 24 months. You should note the notice period so that the contract is not automatically extended by 24 months. Often the following applies: the longer the contract, the cheaper the contract.
- Before you conclude a contract, check how many inclusive minutes and free SMS you will receive. SMS and minutes often only apply internally. So for the provider with whom you conclude the contract. When the inclusive services are used up, billing is usually done per minute or per SMS. Here, too, the follow-up costs are important if the flat rates are not unlimited.
- The same applies to the mobile Internet. The mobile phone providers sell inclusive volumes from a few megabytes to several gigabytes. Everything that goes beyond that is usually not billed separately. However, the data connection is throttled after the inclusive volume has been used up. You can still go online, but more slowly.
Prepaid card with Allnet option
There is now a large selection of prepaid tariffs without a contract for those who do not use the phone a lot. A prepaid card tends to be worthwhile if you rarely want to use the Internet on the go and use your cell phone little.
- With pre-paid flat rates, you should also pay attention to how many minutes of conversation are included and how they are billed when they are used up. Often, every minute or part thereof is calculated. Also important: Do the free minutes only apply to the provider from whom you buy the pre-paid card or to all networks?
- With pre-paid tariffs, inclusive SMS are often only offered for one network - namely that of the seller. Before you buy, make sure that the SMS are valid for one network or for all mobile phone networks. You should also keep an eye on how expensive an SMS will be when the allotment is used up.
- As a prepaid customer, you no longer have to do without mobile internet these days. However, make sure that the use of the mobile Internet is billed per day of use or that a flat rate is included.
No matter which provider you choose. With all providers, you should keep an eye on the inclusive volume, the free minutes and free SMS. Otherwise you pay for services that you do not need at all. In the worst case, you end up paying more if you consume more than the selected tariff offers for inclusive services.
