Alternative to Apple News: With a swipe to the FOCUS Online Top News
Apple's pre-installed news app sources its articles from various publishers. If you want to determine the news source on the iPhone yourself, the FOCUS Online app with the associated top news widget is an option.
It's so easy to get the FOCUS Online Top News widget
To use the widget, you must first install the FOCUS Online News app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Once the app is installed, swipe right from your home screen to get to the widgets screen. Then scroll down until you see the "Edit" button.
- If you tap on "Edit", you will first see a list of your active widgets and below that the list of the remaining widgets available. The FOCUS Online News widget can be found under "Other widgets".
- Click the plus sign to the left of the widget to activate it. It is now displayed under your active widgets.
- If you want to change the order of your widgets, you can also do this in the list view of the active widgets. How? Simply drag and drop the symbol with the three crossbars.
FOCUS Online top news: How to use the widget
By default, the widget only shows one message. However, you can also display more top messages and open the FOCUS online app directly via the widget.
- If you want to see more than one message, it's easy: just tap on "More" in the top right corner of the widget.
- You will now see four top messages.
- With another click in the upper right corner you minimize the widget again.
- Once you have expanded the widget, the "All current news" button is displayed below. If you tap this, the FOCUS online app opens directly.
