Connecting two Alexa devices is relatively simple. We have listed step by step what you need to do to connect the two Amazon Echoes quickly and easily.
Connect multiple Alexa - how it works
To connect two Alexa devices to each other, you have to create a so-called Smart Home device group in the Alexa app:
- In the Alex app, select the "Smart Home" option in the [☰] menu.
- Then go to "Groups" and choose "Add Group". If you have already set up smart home groups, you can select a group and add the Amazon Echo there. However, you must note that each Alexa can only be assigned to one group at a time.
- By the way: If you have not yet set up Alexa, our tips will certainly help you.
- As soon as you have activated a Smart Home group, first assign a group name. Depending on how many smart home groups you want to set up, a simple but unambiguous naming is available, such as the respective location
- When naming the Amazon Echos, you should choose short and concise names so that Alexa can recognize them quickly. Names that Alexa could easily confuse with a command or something similar will give you little pleasure in the long run.
- Finally add the two Amazon Echoes to the Smart Home group and finally tap "Save".
- Tip: You can also use the browser to connect the Alexas to each other after you have logged in to your Amazon account.
