If you want to set up your Bose Soundtouch with the Amazon Echo, you can do this in two different ways. We'll show you how to do it step by step.
Connect Amazon Echo to Bose Soundtouch
The required skill, which connects Echo and Soundtouch, is currently only available in English. If you change the language on your Amazon Echo, the problem will be solved.
- Open the alexa.amazon.com website and log in to your Amazon account.
- You can now select "English" in the "Language" category.
- Then open the Alexa app and switch to the "Skills" category in the main menu.
- Enter "Bose" here and install the corresponding skill.
- Log in to your Bose account again here and complete the setup.
- Make sure that all Bose speakers have a meaningful name such as "Bose living room" or "dining room".
- Now you can play music on the Bose Soundtouch by voice command. The voice command always starts with "Alexa, ask Bose to ...".
- You can now attach various prompts to this command, such as "play preset 1 in all rooms" or "turn of the dining room".
Bose Soundtouch: Connect Amazon Echo Dot via Bluetooth
Alternatively, you can use your Bose Soundtouch as an external speaker for the Amazon Echo. All you have to do is connect the two devices using an AUX cable. You can also connect the small Amazon Echo Dot to the Bose Soundtouch via Bluetooth:
- First, set up the Bose Soundtouch and Amazon Echo Dot separately so that both devices are functional.
- Now open the Alexa app on your smartphone and select the Amazon Echo in the "Settings".
- Press and hold the Blutooth button on the Bose Soundtouch for a few seconds and select the "Pair with a new device" option under "Bluetooth" in the app.
- If you select the Bose Soundtouch from the list, the two devices are connected via Bluetooth.
- Your music will now be played through the Bose Soundtouch. If the connection breaks, say "Connect Alexa" and press the Bluetooth button on the Bose Soundtouch.
- Tip: Bose recommends that the Amazon Echo Dot and Bose Soundtouch be placed no more than one meter apart.
