Amazon Echo: Alexa’s most useful voice commands
With the right voice commands, Amazon Echo can be used sensibly in everyday life. We present some voice commands to you.
"Alexa": The most useful voice commands from Amazon Echo
Amazon Echo works similarly to Google Now or Apple's voice assistant Siri, except that it is not in a smartphone, but in its own device. Similar to "Hey Siri" or "OK Google", Amazon Echo uses the word "Alexa" to draw your attention. The user can probably change the name later.
- "Alexa, what can you do?": This is one of the first questions you should ask Amazon Echo. Here's what Echo can do for you.
- Via commands such as "Alexa, what time is it?", "Alexa, how many people live in Germany?", "Alexa, how many centimeters are an inch?" Amazon Echo publishes everyday information.
- Echo can also play music, for example with the command "Alexa, play pop music". With the appropriate app, you can also play your own music or call up playlists you have created yourself using a voice command.
- Echo is also helpful in the household. With "Alexa, add flour, salt and sugar to the shopping list" or "Alexa, start a countdown of 8 minutes", a little work will be done for you.
- Prepare for the next day by using the commands "Alexa, set an alarm clock for tomorrow at 7:00 am" or "Alexa, how will the weather be tomorrow?"
- The fun should not be neglected either. With "Alexa, tell me a joke", Echo reaches deep into the joke box. The short jokes seem to be relatively amusing, but Echo, like all voice assistants, speaks without emphasis, so that one or the other joke falls into the water.
- You can use the "Alexa, stop" command to pause Amazon Echo at any time, so you can quickly pause Echo or pause the music.
