If you want to use your Amazon Echo with your Sonos system, there are several ways to do this. We show you exactly how to do this.
Amazon Echo and Sonos: officially from spring 2017
- Amazon Echo cannot yet be connected and controlled wirelessly with the Sonos system. According to Sonos, the integration should still be possible in spring 2017. You then need the Sonos Play 5 or newer.
- Then you can also connect your Amazon Echo to Sonos wirelessly. Other developers also have the option of accessing the interface between Echo and Sonos, which should provide additional functions in the future.
Connect Amazon Echo to Sonos by cable
- Until then, you only have to make the detour via the cable. Incidentally, this is the only possible way if you own an older Sonos system than the Play 5.
- For the connection you need a double-sided AUX cable of sufficient length. The output of the sound can run on all Sonos boxes if desired, but note that you should be near the Amazon Echo for issuing voice commands.
