Amazon Echo: Set up multiroom function - how it works
If you set up the multiroom function on your Amazon Echo, you can play several speakers in different rooms with the same music. We'll show you how it's done.
Instructions: Set up multiroom function on Amazon Echo
Multiroom doesn't just work with all different Echo devices from Amazon. Other speakers from Sonos, Bose or Samsung are also compatible.
- First open the Alexa app on your smartphone.
- In the top left of the main menu, select the "Groups" under "Smart Home".
- Tap "Create Group" and then "Multiroom Music Group".
- Add all the speakers you want and confirm with "Create group".
- Tip: Change the name of the multiroom group to a suitable name such as "Keller", "1. Stock" or "Multiroom".
- With the command "Alexa, play music in [group name]", the multiroom group is played with music.
Amazon Echo: Notes on the multiroom function
- Among other things, Amazon Music, Prime Music, Tuneln and Spotify support the Echo's multiroom function. Further services are to follow.
- Stream the music with Spotfiy, for example, simply tap on "Available devices" at the bottom of the app. Here you can simply select the multiroom group as the loudspeaker.
- Each speaker can currently only be part of a multiroom group. To create a new group, you must first delete the old group.
