Amazon Echo: How to control your Samsung TV with the voice assistant
There is currently no simple option to control your Samsung TV with Alexa without additional hardware. If you want to control the Samsung TV remotely with the Echo, you need the Logitech Harmony Box for around 100 euros.
- Connect this to your TV and connect it to the mains.
- You must then set up your Samsung TV in the app provided. Simply follow the wizard.
- In the "Actions" app, select "New Action" and then your Samsung TV. Tap the right arrow to continue.
- In the next step you have to confirm that the Samsung TV is switched on. Then tap the right arrow and select the connection via which you want to control the TV. Usually this is the TV connection. Finally, you can test the functions.
- Download the Yonomi app on your smartphone so that voice control works.
- Make sure that the Samsung TV is also stored there. If this is not the case, add it using the plus symbol.
- Now you can start the TV with "Alexa, turn on the TV".
The main commands for the Amazon Echo
- In the "Settings" of the Amazon Alexa app you can add further commands if you have selected your TV.
- For example, you can switch, change the volume, jump to a specific channel, change the input source or switch off the sound.
- Say "Alexa, switch to Sat 1" or "Alexa, make the TV quieter".
- You can also turn off the Samsung TV using "Alexa, turn off the TV".
