Amazon Echo: power consumption in standby and operation
At first glance, the Amazon Echo has low power consumption. But since it also needs electricity in standby, that adds up to a year. We show how high the electricity costs are in the end.

- Even if you do not say "Alexa" or use the Amazon Echo in any other way, it consumes about two watts in standby mode.
- If you say "Alexa" and feed the assistant with a voice command, it is already four watts.
- If you play music with the Amazon Echo or use skills, the power consumption increases to up to five watts.

Amazon Echo Plus: power consumption in standby and operation
- The slightly larger Amazon Echo Plus also uses a little more power: approx. It needs 2.5 watts in standby.
- Even if you use Alexa, the power consumption increases more than with the smaller Echo. Here it is about 4.5 watts.
- The big Echo Plus needs even more power when you listen to music. Then he sucks about seven watts from the socket.
