Echo is a clever voice assistant from Amazon that you can use to play music and stream YouTube videos, among other things. In this article we will tell you how the latter works.
Connect Amazon Echo to YouTube
With the existing Echo skills you can equip your Amazon Echo according to your wishes.
- There are currently 38 of these skills available in the Music & Audio area. Here you can find, for example, various radio stations, Spotify and Amazon Music. There is currently no official skill for YouTube.
- However, a resourceful programmer has created an unofficial skill for YouTube. It is available for download on Github. You can install it like a normal skill and then control YouTube with Alexa.
- As a workaround, you can also connect your smartphone to Alexa via Bluetooth. Then access the app on YouTube and play your playlist. In this way, you still play the sound via Amazon Echo.
