Amazon Fire HD: install the Play Store without root - how it works
If you really want to run all Android apps on your Amazon Fire HD, you need the Play Store. It can also be installed without root. In this practical tip, we will show you step by step how to proceed.
Install the Play Store without root - the download
Before you can start with the actual installation, you must first download the necessary package files and copy them to your Amazon Fire.
- With us you will find all Google Play services in one package for free download.
- After the download, connect the Kindle Fire to your PC via USB and open the "Download" directory in the internal memory.
- Move the downloaded APK file into this directory and disconnect the USB cable from the PC after the transfer.
Install the Play Store without root - do the installation
- Now it goes back to Kindle Fire HD: Open the "Documents" app on the reader and click on the "Local Storage" tab.
- Select the "Download" folder and install the "GoogleLoginService.apk" package.
- You will now receive a warning that the "Installation has been blocked". Here tap on "Settings" and in the next window select the "Apps of unknown origin" switch. Confirm with "OK" and navigate back to then install the package.
- Then install the "GoogleServicesFramework.apk", "com.google.android.gms.apk" and "com.android.vending.apk" packages in this order.
- The device restarts several times during installation. After the last restart, you can open the Google Play Store.
- Note: The first time the Play Store is started, it may take a little longer to set up. Just wait for the process to finish.
Install Play Store without root - update the Android store
If you have successfully set up your Play Store, you can already download and install the first apps.
- During the first app installation, however, you will receive the notification "App requires an update of Google Play services".
- In this case, tap the message to update the Play Store. This way you get the latest and safest version of the app store.
- You can then download and use apps as usual.
