Amazon Fire TV doesn't work - you can do that
If your Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick no longer works, it can be either the device itself or the TV. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Solve Amazon Fire TV problems
- Restart: Press and hold the select and play button on the remote control for a few seconds until the Fire TV restarts. As a rule, this solves many problems.
- Power: If the restart does not work, pull out the power cable of the Fire TV. Then connect the device again after about 10 seconds.
- WLAN: If the content is not loaded, there is usually a problem with your WLAN connection. Also take your router briefly off the power and then reconnect it.
Amazon Fire TV has stopped working. Additional tips
- Resolution: If no image is displayed, hold down the "Up" and "Back" buttons on the remote control and wait a few seconds. Then the Fire TV tries to find the right resolution. This process takes around 30 seconds.
- Apps: The applications also cause problems from time to time. Open the "Applications" under "Settings" and select "Manage all installed applications". Find the app you want and choose "Clear Data", "Clear Cache" and "Force Stop".
- Cable: There may also be an error in the HDMI cable. If the TV stays black, try a different HDMI cable.
In an emergency: Fully reset Amazon Fire TV
- Reset: Open the "System" category in "Settings" and select the "Reset to factory settings" option at the bottom. Then all content and settings on the Fire TV will be deleted.
