There are several reasons why your Amazon Kindle can no longer be used. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Kindle doesn't come on - that can help
- First check the battery. Connect the Kindle to the socket or your computer using the USB cable and charge the device. If the lamp lights up orange, your device is charging.
- If the lamp does not light up when charging, use a different cable. When used for a long time, the contacts of the cable may wear out or the cable may be damaged if it is bent frequently.
- If that doesn't work either, perform a reset. To do this, hold down the power button on your Kindles for around 30 seconds. But be careful: Charge the device at least 50 percent beforehand so that no major damage occurs.

- If none of this helped, the device is most likely defective. Both the battery and the rest of the hardware may have given up early.
- If your Kindle is still under warranty, you can usually have the reader repaired free of charge. This is the case if you did not cause the defect yourself. To do this, contact Amazon Customer Service.
