Reset Amazon Kindle - Here's how
If you want to sell your old Kindle, you should completely reset your Kindle to erase all private information. You can read how the reset works in this tip.
Reset Kindle reader
To do this, you must first log out and then the new user must register or log in:
- The first step is done on Amazon.de in the "My Kindle" area of your Amazon account. You can reach him via "My Account"> "My Kindle". Now click on "Manage My Devices" under "Your Kindle Account" on the left.
- Amazon will then list all readers registered to your account. In the line of the device whose registration you want to delete, click on "Logout" under "Actions". Confirm the query with "Unsubscribe".
- From this moment on you can no longer buy any content for this reader. The new user must then register the device with their own Amazon account. This is done directly via the reader. For this, activate "Home" and "Menu" on the Kindle keyboard. Then open the "Settings" menu and then use "register". For Kindle and Kindle Touch use "Home".
- Then activate "Menu" and "Settings". Then select the "Register" link next to "Register" or tap "Register" directly. With "If you don't have an Amazon account yet" you start the integrated browser and the Amazon pages for setting up an account.
- With "If you already have an Amazon account", you can register the reader with an existing account. Finally, for each reader you need the email address under which the new account is registered and the password.
